ATLANTIC COAST CHAMPIONSHIP

August 8-9, 2009

NOTICE OF RACE 

1.  INVITATION –  Fleet 54 of the International 110 Class Association and Ida Lewis Yacht Club invite you and your crew to the 2009 International 110 Atlantic Coast Championship Regatta.  The event will be held on the waters of Narragansett Bay.  The event will be dry sailed. 

2ORGANIZING AUTHORITY – The organizing authority for this regatta will be the 2009 International 110 Atlantic Coast Championship Regatta Organization Committee, Ida Lewis Yacht Club and the International 110 Class Association. 

3.  RULES - The regatta will be governed by the 2009-20012 RRS (RRS) and the International 110 Class rules (except as amended by this notice and the sailing instructions), this notice of race and any amendments thereto, and the sailing instructions and any amendments thereto.  

4.  ELIGIBILITY - All helmsmen must be Members in good standing of the International 110 Class.  Each competitor (skipper and crew) shall sign and submit a waiver of liability (available at registration) to the organizing committee before the close of registration (1100 August 8, 2009).  In the event of a crew substitution, the new crew member must submit a signed waiver to Race Headquarters prior to racing.  Failure to comply invalidates a yacht’s entry.   

5ADVERTISING - All boats will be subject to the restriction of Category A of ISAF Regulation 20. 

6ENTRY FEE - $45 

7.  REGISTRATION - Competitors shall register the day of the event 

8.  MEASUREMENT – All entries must have a valid measurement certificate.   

9.  SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

11.  SAILING INSTRUCTIONS – Sailing Instructions will be distributed at registration.   

12.  SCORING – Will be In accordance with class rules, with a low point scoring system.  A minimum of three races shall constitute a series.  A boat’s worst finish may be discarded after the completion of five (5) races 

13.  PROTESTS – Forms must be submitted on an official ISAF or US Sailing form within one hour of the race committees return to the dock.  Code flag B will be flown from the flag pole at Sail Newport during this one hour protest period. 

15.   PRIZES –  A perpetual trophy will be presented to the winner.   

16. PERPETUAL TROPOHIES - Winners acknowledge that by accepting a perpetual award that they understand their responsibility to have trophies appropriately engraved and shipped to the event host club before the next championship event.
